Honeywell Named Pierre City Administrator

Kristi Honeywell is Pierre’s new City Administrator.
The Pierre City Commission approved the contract to bring Honeywell on board. Honeywell will begin her duties with the City on August 14th. She replaces Leon Schochenmaier who retired June 30th.

Honeywell currently serves as the State Engineer and Deputy Commissioner for the South Dakota Bureau of Administration. Prior to her current position, Honeywell was an engineer with the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Honeywell has lived in Pierre for 24 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry with a minor in Math from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Missouri. Honeywell is a Licensed Professional Engineer, a graduate of the South Dakota State Government Leadership Excellence Program, and a member of the Central South Dakota Engineering Society.
Brad Palmer, City Utilities Director, will continue serving as the interim City Administrator until Honeywell starts. Honeywell’s starting salary will be 127,500 dollars per year.
