PACA Athletes of the Week

Thursday, September 21, 2017

Congratulations to Matt Maxfield and Nicole Sarringar for being chosen as PACA- Athletes of the Week!

Matt played his best game of the season last Friday in leading the Govs Defense to their first shutout in two years. Matt had 2 Interceptions in the game, both of which setup short fields for the Governor Offense that resulted in Touchdowns. Matt has done a great job leading their defense on and off the field and continues to prove their haters wrong. He has been an important part of their defense at the Free Safety position and has really done a great job getting their secondary on the same page working together. He now has 3 INT’s on the year, 2 Forced Fumbles, a Fumble Recovery, and 13 tackles on this young season.

For Nicole it started with offseason work outs were she demonstrated great senior leadership and pushed her teammates to do their best, even jumping in with players were struggling even though it meant running extra for herself.  Her efforts have paid off and she has done a great job for the Lady Govs on the court leading them in assist with 110 on the season.   She is also serving at 92 percent on the season 108 out of 117, starting them off on a positive note as one of their first servers.
